Thank you to Smith Publicity and author, Maureen Joyce Connolly, for sending me a free book to read and review. I read this in 2 sittings so you know it’s good and I’m giving it a BEE Shopping rating!
Pretend you are a Mom, in training to become a doctor, with two young girls. You are on your way to drop them off at day care and get to the hospital on time for work. It’s days into a summer heatwave and you start to feel odd, then sick, then really sick and you pull into a gas station. The girls are asleep in their car seats and you need to vomit. What would you do?
This is when Claire Rawlings makes the decision to leave the car running so the girls have the air conditioning. She bolts for the gas station bathroom and not only vomits, but passes out. When she comes to, her car is gone and so are her children, Andrea and Lily. The police have almost no leads.
This story continues with Claire, her husband Glen and their dog Gretchie struggling with this life altering kidnapping. Both girls, kidnappers, and others enter the story so you as the reader get many perspectives. Can their marriage survive? What happened to Andrea and Lily? Again, what would you do in Claire’s situation that morning on the way to work?
