To BEE or Not to BEE: SelectSpecs.com Review

I have never ordered prescription glasses online before so I was intrigued when SelectSpecs.com connected with me on Twitter about their service.  They are based in the UK, but ship worldwide.  All you need is a copy of your most up to date prescription from your optometrist and you can move through their easy ordering system like I did.  SelectSpecs.com gave me a promo code for a free pair of economy glasses which are shown in the pics above.  You can get glasses starting at $13 including lenses and coatings.  Once I placed my order it took about 6 weeks to arrive to me in Canada so depending on where you live the cost savings on glasses means waiting longer to receive them.

This product gets a positive Buzz rating from AngelaBeeMy glasses are the Savannah, 2264 in Purple and Black and I really like them.  Drawbacks are you don’t get to try them on before ordering and it takes a few weeks to receive your order.  Pros are these are good quality glasses at an affordable price.  I give SelectSpecs.com a Positive BUZZ and will check out there website the next time I need a new pair of glasses or prescription sunglasses.  I’m very happy with my free pair of glasses.  What do you think of the new specs?

  1. Hi Angela,

I looked at reviews before ordering from Selectspecs.com (the ones from trustpilot on their site) and thought everything looked good. Now I am finding other reviews on the internet that say to steer clear of this company, they didn’t get their glasses, there were problems with their glasses, customer service was extremely poor to non-existent. Now I am really worried and wondering if I should try and cancel my order (some people even said the company gave the run around and wouldn’t cancel or refund). My order is not a free promo like yours, it’s three pairs with a substantial cost involved. I see you are also in Canada. Did you have to pay any duties at all? I selected FedEx delivery option, but am not clear if I will have to pay more $ upon receipt. Your thoughts?

    • HI Patricia,
I still have my glasses which are in good shape and I keep them as back ups because my prescription has changed a bit since March, 2016. I had no issues getting my glasses and didn’t need to call customer service so I’m not sure I’m the best person to answer your questions. I am in Canada and I’m pretty sure my glasses arrived through Canada Post and I did not pay customs. Since you already ordered I would see what happens. Perhaps call customer service now with your worries and feel them out. If you don’t get a good feeling over the phone, then make your decision then.
